NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 13: Rafael Nadal of Spain holds the championship trophy during the trophy ceremony after defeating Novak Djokovic of Serbia to win the men's singles final on day fifteen of the 2010 U.S. Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on September 13, 2010 in the Flushing neighborhood of the Queens borough of New York City. Clijsters fought for for it and earned it.Gutty, and well deserved. That woman could almost outrun her own shadow. What chance did Stosur,or Venus have against that. Not enough.

Venus lost the US Open trophy in the Second set tiebreak vs Kim in the Semis. Two double faults. She blinked. She lost.Kim closed it out.Venus would have beaten Zvonoreva.I could be wrong about that. But I'm not.

Poor Vera popping strings, fraying nerves. But what a great year for her.solid victory over Wozniacki.

Kim Clijsters is going into the Hall of Fame. This just cements it.I do hope she can add a few wins at the other majors. She can.

Nadal.

People who think he is a greater player than Federer are bad at math.

But he doesn't deserve to be graded on a curve. He is a great.

I have a rare feeling of surety watching him when he's playing at his best. That no one can out muscle him,and wrest the match out of his hands.
